I recently purchase a 4 Runner and when I shift gears it makes a squeaky sound. The dealer tells me that it’s normal sound. Does anyone have a similar problem?
What I mean by changing gears I mean from drive to reverse.

Changed the alternator and the battery is still on which is suppose to indicate a battery charging problem. The motor is idleing fast and slow fast and slow in a rhythem pattern. The part store put it on the scope and claimed the alternator is working fine.

I saw smoke coming out from the front. I oppened it and I saw water was spilled everywhere (more in front). I don’t know what happened. I check the oil once a week and the water level and it was good. I am due for an oil change after 73600 miles, now it is 73009 miles and I was going to change the oil.

My entire instrument panel has gone dead. Speedometer, tachometer, odometer, and temp. gauge. I know that it’s not a problem with my fuses, that much I’ve cleared up. What could it be???

I have a 2002 Toyota Rav4 5-Speed, recently when I start it, the ignition just clicks, and I have to press gas pedal down then it will start. If I shut car off, it will restart with no problems, but if car has been sitting for a bit, the starting difficulty returns. Is this a battery problem? or starter?
